Tree Programm by Tree-Nation

Why We Plant Trees

At Thomas Frenken Gallery, our goal is to offer limited fine art prints with the very best quality, but at the same time we also think it is important to take care of the planet. Not just to offset our CO2 emissions, but also to contribute to the regrowing of wildlife habitats and raising awareness.

So we have partnered with Tree-Nation whose focus is on the reforestation and the reduction of the most pressing threats to the diversity of LIFE on EARTH.
Every time you buy a print, a tree will be planted in your name!

With this action we want to make a positive contribution while involving our costumers in the process.

That is why we will plant one tree with every purchased print at our store.

Tree Nation is the reforestation platform which gathers together in one place the largest number of tree planting projects around the world and is a non-profit organisation that allows citizens and companies to plant trees all around the world and offset their CO2 emissions.

In every project, the species are carefully selected according to the specific benefits they bring for the environment and to the local population.

Each tree planted on the Tree Nation platform is assigned its own unique URL, which means the species, the location, the plantation project information and the CO2 compensation values can be tracked throughout the lifetime of the tree.

Below we will explain how all this works.

We are currently supporting the Madagascar, Eden Project and Tanzania, Usambara Biodiversity Conservation

The overall goal for the Eden Project is to fight the deforestation. Deforestation is a major issue in Madagascar because of its high concentration of endemic species and extreme rates of habitat loss. In response to the large-scale loss of mangroves and upland forests Eden Reforestation Projects initiated the Madagascar Reforestation Project. The program began in 2007 and since its inception Eden has successfully planted over 16 million mangrove and dry deciduous trees in this remote area of northwest Madagascar.

In Tanzania the Eastern Arc Mountains are a global biodiversity hot spot, and this biodiversity must be maintained. Tree nursery projects to reforest lands in the Usambara Mountains African Rainforest are an excellent way to achieve this imperative. Population growth puts further pressure on the Forest Nature Reserve as people need building materials, cooking fuel, and other tree products. The project has the objective to enhance tree planting in and around villages adjacent to Nature Forest Reserve and the Jegestal water source. By assuring adequate tree availability to communities in the Usambara Mountains, we can avoid the unsustainable illegal use of the Reserves.

How It Works

So you've made a purchase or are thinking of making a purchase at our print store, fantastic!

After you've placed your order you will first receive a confirmation email from us about your order, with a receipt of your purchase. You will also receive a separate email with the title 'Thomas Frenken Gallery offered you a tree on Tree-Nation.'

For every purchased print at our store, we will plant 1 tree (example: 4 prints = 4 trees). If you do not see it in your inbox, please check under promotions or your spam inbox.

The email will look like the image above and will includes a link our tree nation page where you can plant your tree.

Once you've planted your tree, you will see a page like this. You can read about the species of the tree you planted, its CO2 offset and what planting project you contributed to.

You can also download your own tree certificate with all the informations.

How cool is this?
Now make your first purchase so that, together, we can start reforesting the planet and fighting the climate change!
